Ah ha. I saw the topic when you had 5 stills only. June 22nd edit date. That was just before the wedding. No wonder I never saw the rest.

I like that photo so may leave it in my previous post jsut for the pleasure of looking at it, but with a thumbnail.

I truly think the promotional campaign has started, what with the recent interview with Patricia Bosworth and stills on Entertainment Tonight and the Vanity Fair article. November seems like a long time to wait, but I think it is the perfect time for Fur to be released, as not only are more serious films are released later in the year closer to the deadline for the Oscars, but they will be fresher in the minds of the Academy's voters. I hope Nicole does Charlie Rose in the fall. Thank you, Skanky! rose4.gif

Ha ha ... the one month in China was work related. sob.gif
My only vacation there was that thoroughly enjoyable and memorable weekend I spent in Shanghai seeing Nicole and Keith in person! thumbsup.gif beatingheart.gif beatingheart.gif

For my upcoming vacation, I'm hoping I can time it to coincide with Keith's tour in Australia. I've never been to any of his concerts yet, and I'm hoping to catch one in OZ, if not sooner in the U.S. praying.gif

Meisha, with your schedule will you wait to see Fur before you come out to Australia? I cannot imagine we will have it in Australia for a while. I bet the DVD (if there is one) comes out before the film reaches Australia. Also Happy Feet will not be here til December 26th. Which is a good time to release Happy Feet with the hot weather, a film with a lot of ice will be most welcome. (not right now brrrr).

Hi Foxy,
If the Nov. 10 & 17 dates are correct for Fur and Happy Feet, I will definitely see them before I travel to OZ.

Ha ha... you probably have to be prepared for rain when I go to OZ. lol.gif So far, I have been getting rain everywhere I traveled this year.

If Fur is going to open in limited release then i think we should prepare ourselves to have to wait a few more weeks to see it as I'm afraid it may initially only be showing in larger markets such as New York and Los Angeles.

*slaps forehead* Thank you for that reminder, Maripose - I had quite forgotten about that. I live one state away from New York (only a 2-4 hour trip to the city) and it astonishes me how many films we NEVER get in my neck of the woods. Now that I think about it, Fur will probably be like the The Hours - I saw it as soon as it came to us, in JANUARY of '03 (which is nothing as far as wait time goes compared to every other part of the world, I know, I know). I think it was popular enough to spread beyond the usual art house cinemas to get some play at the regular cineplexes. Dogville, Birth and The Human Stain were only shown in the two or three art house cinemas in the state. I wonder what Fur's fate will be (more The Hours and not Birth, I hope). The buzz we're getting thus far is tantalizing, yes, but the proof's in the seeing.

My guess is it will most likely get a similar release to what The Hours got. Whether people want to jump ship and call this an oscar contender or what not, Picturehouse(the company that is releasing the film) has their 2 oscar ponies this year, and Fur is one of them. So I'm sure they are going to do limited in November then it goes wider in December or something if it gets nominations at the Globes, etc.....that's usually how those things go.
