First teaser posters for "Australia"!

http://moviecitynews.com/arrays/2008/australiafull.html

Here's the preview:

and here's the commentary from the Variety blogger Kristopher Tapley about them:

QUOTE
This page of “Australia” images is a Movie City News exclusive, though at least two of the pics have been on the net in some form for a while (including the saucy rain shot that’s been sitting cropped on our buzz page for some time). In any case, these look to be an initial set of teaser posters for the film.
I dig it. The first shot of Hugh Jackman is the more fetching, though. Fox is gearing up a major campaign for this film, which will likely have the full power of the studio behind it, what with Searchlight’s apparent off-year. I’m looking forward to it, but with an odd sense of anxiety.

Thanks Hellagood happy.gif. While the pic of NK running is good, they should have used the one of her on the horse with the cattle behind her or that one of her and Jack Thompson.

Why would the Variety blogger say he is looking forward to seeing the film but with an odd sense of anxiety about "Australia"? Any ideas why the odd sense of anxiety?

Maybe the writer is simply saying it's odd that they should have any anxiety at all about a movie they didn't even make?

Thanks hellagood rose4.gif for the great news. Are these definitely posters? The Red letter "A" at the bottom right hand corner seems out of kilter with the poster to me, and not "Baz-like"?

I agree the third one of Nicole running on the wharf might not be the best one and one of her sitting in her riding outfit on her black horse would be more appealing. Actually the third one of Nicole running on the wharf seems almost identical to ones I have seen for the Peacemaker. Off to find one!

PS. The new one of Hugh gets the thumbsup thumbsup.gif And the Kiss is so beautifully mystical.
