PRIVATE SYDNEY Andrew Hornery NICOLE KIDMAN has been given a good licking by the media in recent months. Now it's the Australian public's turn, with the actor joining her fellow Australian Academy Award winners Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush to adorn a series of stamps celebrating actors. The stamps will be unveiled by Australia Post at a gala luncheon in Darling Harbour on Friday. Australia Day is marked each year with stamps celebrating the achievements of prominent citizens. Rush is the only one who won an Oscar for playing an Australian character - the pianist David Helfgott in the film Shine. Nashville-based Kidman will skip the luncheon as she will be addressing the G'Day USA dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. She is then due to fly to Rome to resume filming on the musical Nine. Blanchett, who is performing in the Sydney Theatre Company's The War Of The Roses, Rush and Crowe, who has been at his property at Nana Glen near Coffs Harbour, preparing for his role as Robin Hood in Nottingham, are all expected to attend on Friday. nicfann, NK's image is going to be used on postage stamps. The release of those postage stamps will be at an event but NK will not be there because she is expected to be in NY around that time at another event. After the NY event, she, apparently, will head over to Italy to film her scenes in NINE.

Unless she has special powers and is able to appear in Oz on the same day that she will be in NY then she will definitely only be attending the one in NY as mentioned in the article,

NK is expected to be at an event honouring Baz L on Friday in New York, it is all part of the G'Day/Australia Day event.
Blanchett, Rush, Crowe are all in Oz at the moment and are expected to attend the unveiling of the stamps at an event held in Oz on the same Friday. These are 2 events in 2 different countries. G'Day is honouring Baz in NY and NK is expected to be there. G'Day is part of the celebration for Australia Day.
It is also because of Australia Day that NK is being honoured with her image on the stamp to acknowledge her Oscar win. The event to celebrate the unveiling of the stamps is also on Friday in Australia so she won't be able to attend it because she is expected to be in NY.
