Great news.
For some strange reason I was thinking about the AFI awards not too long ago. |

Thanks for the list - naturally all the alerts are saying that Nic, Hugh, Baz and the movie weren't nominated for anything and that's what's making that the headline.

I'm happy for the noms but surely Australia deserved more in particular in the main categories.

Thanks for the list - naturally all the alerts are saying that Nic, Hugh, Baz and the movie weren't nominated for anything and that's what's making that the headline. Nic, Hugh and Baz are not the only big names being "snubbed". Funny how those headlines omitted other big names noticeably missing in the AFI nominations: Cate Blanchett had two films released in 2008/09: Benjamin Button and Indy 4. Likewise, Naomi Watts for "The International" and "Funny Games". Just an fyi, here's the category they would/should have been under consideration: AFI INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR BEST ACTRESS Rose Byrne. Damages. Foxtel Toni Collette. United States of Tara. ABC1 Melissa George. In Treatment. Foxtel Mia Wasikowska. In Treatment. Foxtel Congratulations to Rusell! AFI INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR BEST ACTOR Russell Crowe. State of Play Martin Henderson. House. Network Ten Anthony LaPaglia. Without a Trace. Nine Network Guy Pearce. That's odd that they combine tv and film like the Golden Globes. To me it doesn't make sense and unfair for the nominees, artistic and technical, when it's two different mediums.
Not surprised Naomi was not nominated for The International. It was a very good film but her part was not fleshed out at all. -------------------- "Keith and I are starting a new project. It's called Over Yonder & Down Under. Guess which one I am!" -Vince Gill
