QUOTE(keico2431 @ Nov 8 2009, 02:20 PM) *
Some people tend to forget that Nicole's part in "Nine" is small and she was not on the set filming but for a short period of time. She was able to have Sunday on the set with her as she did in "Rabbit Hole" also!

Sophia Loren mentioned in an interview that Nicole had Sunday with her all the time. happy.gif I know this is from a DM article, but the writer of this one article claimed to have interviewed Sophia; it's quite different than the case of DM's "cut-n-paste then twist-n-spin" of Nic's GQ interview.
QUOTE
Widely regarded as something of a man’s woman (she once said she found the approval of women harder to gain than the approval of men, but more valuable), she has nothing but praise for her female co-stars. ‘It was like being a family. We were so happy. Everyone thought that all these actresses together would start a fire or something, but we got on so well. Nicole Kidman had her baby with her all the time and seemed so contented when her husband [country singer Keith Urban] came on the set; Judi Dench was so funny in that way only the English can be, and Penélope Cruz was very Spanish. We all sang and we all danced and we were drunk with music on the set. We cried when we parted, which is something that generally doesn’t happen on films.’

Meisha, I like your description of DM "cut-n-paste then twist-n-spin" but the sad thing is lots of people believe in tabloid gossips and made nasty comments about Nic. Anyway, thank you Ms Anomy and Foxy for the scan huggle.gif and I hope all the lurkers will read the entire GQ article and see that DM's article is all exaggeration and sensationalism. rose4.gif

well, i have to say, i enjoyed that GQ article...the little tags and quotes here and there over the last week of so have had me concerned. i too, like so many others, am tired of the whole tom cruise thing. BLEH! i see now that it was the writer that was on that train. i especially like the quote (which hasn't been referred to anywhere else...imagine that) where she says "...i sort of feel like it is disrespectful of my current marriage to speak of my past marriage..." I LIKE TO HEAR THAT FROM HER... the past is the past...let it go and focus on her in the NOW. interesting read and amazing photos...and thanks for the scan and posting of it!!!!

Many, many thanks, Foxy and Ms. Anony for the scans. Nicole is lovely in the pictures. But it's not hard to see where some other publications just plucked out random statements to sensationalize and use for their negative slant to sell their own version of this interview. This was actually a very good article with the exception of the writer's preoccupation with Nicole's past. Nicole has moved on with her life to a happier place, a loving husband, and a precious little daughter--it's high time the media moved on also and stopped pestering Nicole for information on things that are over and done with.

QUOTE(friendlyfox @ Nov 8 2009, 05:29 AM) *
UPDATE: SCANS

Thanks Foxy.

I'm disgusted with the 5th scan that says that Nicole's last successful film was Moulin Rouge. Didn't The Golden Compass set an International Box Office record? and why should Happy Feet (one of the most successful Australian films of all time) be disregarded and DVD sales (despite the fact that they show that Nicole's films are regarded as collectibles by the public)?

I love her comments about the bold epic statements. That's why her films are legendary and in up there with the films of the Greats.

Her public persona as one of Hollywood's most famous, most glamorous, most-in demand leading ladies is at odds with the movies she's made.

I didn't know that Nicole looked unglamourous, unattractive and unnoteworthy in Moulin Rouge, To Die For, The Stepford Wives and The Golden Compass. I didn't know the star of Moulin Rouge would not be in demand as a leading lady.

I haven't heard Nicole refer to Eyes Wide Shut as the film she's most proud of in fact she has said that Baz is her favourite director.

The description of her marriage to Cruise as The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow where all the answers lie is just too much. It was hypocritical of the writer to mention all the negatives about Nicole's other films and then gush about the impressive Box Office of Days of Thunder as though that's all that matter. I think it undermines all the points that he's made about the other films and his credibility. It's interesting that he doesn't mention Dead Calm.

This article says Nicole's most dynamic and inspiring role was playing Tom's wife in Eyes Wide Shut. eek.gif

I'm sorry but this is one of the most ridiculous articles that I've read in years. It even beats some of the things written by Thomas Mapother's biggest fanatics.

The only part I like is where it says that 'What is indisputable however is that there was a Nicole Kidman before Tom Cruise. And there is a Nicole Kidman after Tom Cruise.'

Thanks for all the scans. Nicole looks stunning. Sorry about the long rant.

I agree, and what about The Interpreter? Australia?
