I totally agree with you, it would be so great to see Nicole that thrilled and happy again, but wether she will ever get nominated or win again, we all know noone´s as good as her!!! -------------------- "The ability to believe & not let your mind get in the way.but being different is never easy."

I'm always very reserved about Oscar predictions. In all these predictions list Nicole's name always appear. It happened with To die for, Cold Mountain, Birth and Dogville. This year is exactly the same situation, mostly because Nicole plays a famous and extraordinary artist, who commit a suicide. It this obvious, that this kind of roles (famous people - artists, actors, singers, writers etc.) are priviliged and beloved by Academy. I think, we have to chill out and wait for movie release and for reviews of course. I'm afraid of last years situations. Most of us expected a nomination for To die for, Cold Mountain, Birth, Dogville (I would add Eyes wide shut also) but then there was a dissapointment. Sometimes I think, that many people look at Nicole's movies in the way - which one of them will be in "Oscar caliber". But hey, this is not a race. I am counting on a good movie and another superb performance by Nicole. Of course, it could be nice, if Academy would nominate Nicole.

she desearves another oscar. if it was up to me i'd give out an oscar for every performance that they robbed her of. Are you kidding me did you se her in Birth and in cold mountain, i mean thats what you call acting. I know that the judges are political but i'd still like to see her win again because she desearves it regardless of what i think of the academy!!!!

I'm so prejudice towards Nicole as being the best actress in the world! I think Renee runs a close second, but Nicole has my heart and there hasn't been a role where she wasn't just outstanding! I couldn't believe they didn't acknowledge her for Cold Mountain, Birth or Dogville! I loved her performance in Bewitched - she literally made that movie work. Looking at her body of work - it's amazing to see her various transformations - The Other's, Moulin Rouge, The Interpreter, etc..
She's just wonderful and her performances just draw you back for more. Other actresses just don't mesmerize you to their characters their playing - I don't know Nicole has something that others just can't pull off. She deserves every recognition by the academy! |

QUOTE(scarlett @ May 15 2006, 05:47 PM) Regardless of the irregular, political, odd or nonsensical voting of the academy members, they have indeed acknowledged Nicoles potent acting abilities already. She is an Oscar winner and once you have one...you are forever known and announced as an Academy Award winner. That will never be taken away. If she gets another nod or another award it's icing on the cake. There are hundreds of great actors out there and only four awards to be given out (through the Oscars) every year. To win it just once is astronomically against the odds for all actors. Her talent cannot be denied. She's already a winner. I only hope she gets nominated so she'll show up to the ceremony so I can admire her on the red carpet. Who cares what the academy thinks - the really important people to Nicole aren't the voters - they are her family, dear friends, earnest fans and all the real world people whom she has the great opportunity and gift to help. That's what's meaningful. Off my soapbox. Next..... |

It is an honour to the academy awards to include Nicole's name as a nominee, an honour they do not deserve. Nicole is much bigger than any award, no actor/actress dead or alive can aprroach her god-like perfection on and off stage. We do not need some politically motivated academy members to tell us this I agree with Adrian whole-heartedly. Nicole has made films that deserved an Oscar or at least a nomination...Moulin Rouge, Dogville, Birth, The Others. (She did win a Golden Globe for Moulin Rouge and I'm glad that she did as she deserved it bigtime.) |
