Two days ago an Italian magazine published a big Nic picture (not new, it is from the 2004 Venice Film Festival) and small article on the alleged rivalry between Venice Film Festival and Rome Film Festival. The latter will be held for the first time next October in Rome. In the article the journalist writes that Nicole will probably be in Rome to promote Fur. There’s nothing certain yet, but it’s a possibility. Note that the magazine is a supplement of the Corriere della Sera, which is supposed to be a “serious newspaper”…
Fur going to Rome would be great news to me, since I live there and I’d finally get a chance to see Nicole! ciao Here's the first picture (thanks Foxy for your help!):  And here's the article in Italian:  Translation Nicole Kidman goes to war. Also in the light of the other stars who should make a stop in Rome, both in the flesh and with their movies. Like Nicole Kidman, who should go there to present her film Fur, about the life of the photographer Diane Arbus. Thus preferring the dome of St Peter’s to the Lagoon of Venice. Weel...I am Italian and many newspapers of my country not see very well this festival of Rome, in particular for the way has been created: very quickly and mysteriously, and beacuse it could be a hard adversary for the festival of Venice that is our national pride... so i think that is better for nicole and for FUR are introduced to Venice, becouse the movie has more possibility to have succeeded ..maybe i mistake but i think that the festival of rome will not have the attention of Venice... so i hope that nic will go to venice... -------------------- "If you enter the dark side of life, and come through it, you emerge with more strength and passion."

 Fur would appear to suit these types of festivals and for it to miss Venice was such a shame. It was a shame Fur was not ready in time for Cannes ( I gather that was the reason it did not appear in the end). This October date for Rome looks more hopeful, with plenty of time for them to get it ready  Marking on calendar now.

In the last issue of FilmTV (an Italian weekly magazine) Fur is mentioned again as one of the films that might be in competition (together with Scoop by W Allen, The Departed by Scorsese, etc.) at Rome Film Festival. They say it's just rumours going around, but who knows...
