I was just wondering if nicole is going to have a movie premiere for her movie "Fur"? I suspect (if there is one) it will be in the fall and I happen to be going to NYC in November. So if anyone knows anything about it...
Thanks!!! -------------------- Nicole&Keith&Sunday Rose<3

If I remember right now it's going limited in October and wide in Nov-December... rigt to the award season
I'm sure that she is gonna be nominated, but the Oscar should/will go to Kate Winselt for Little Children! She's overdue and the movie sounds intersting. Nic and Kate are now the biggest forrunners to win... And now it looks like that best changes for a nod have Nic, Kate, Beyonce for Dreamgirls, Ashley Judd for Bug and Cate Blanchet for Notes on a Scandal... |

hmm well, at least it's in November... I was hoping it would be near the end of November since I heard it's rated R and my best friend won't turn 18 until November 26th. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to sneak her in lol.

QUOTE(gracie @ Jul 26 2006, 08:13 AM) From what I hear, gracie, it comes out in October. It was supposed to come out in December, but they moved it up a couple of months. All the oscar buzzers say Kate is Nicole's main competition, I can't wait to see Little Children though, I LOVED the book. This post has been edited by NicoleFan17: Jul 26 2006, 03:29 PM |

Both Kate and Cate are long overdue, although I imagine one never wants to win an Oscar on the basis of being "deserving" (which sounds like an obligation) rather than on the strength of a particular performance. (Then again, I've never been nominated for one, so that's really just a guess on my part. Perhaps there are actors who really do want to be up there on that platform and don't care how or why they get there.) I would have liked Nicole to win at Cannes last year for Dogville because to my knowledge she has never won Best Actress there before, and it is without a doubt the most prestigious (and certainly the most famous) of all the international film festivals. Would I like her to win another Oscar? Sure. Am I itching to see it happen? Not really, because she will be referred to as "Academy Award winner" regardless of if she wins another one or not, and she's already honored and respected (rightfully) as one of the major talents of our time. (If anything - and this is selfish, I know - I wouldn't mind seeing her win so she can get up on the podium and thank her new hubby. And because an Oscar broadcast without Nicole all dressed up to ooh and ahh over is like a day at the beach without the water. Just not the same.) I like the idea of "sharing the wealth", as it were, amoungst the other major talents of our time. In the case of Fur I think any nomination of Nicole (or a nomination in any other catagory) will benefit the director and the film itself moreso than Nicole, per se - she can't possibly get any more famous or respected than she already is...can she? She won a couple years ago in Best Supporting Actress The Aviator. This post has been edited by NicoleFan17: Jul 27 2006, 05:57 AM |
