Vanity Fair "fur" Diane Arbus *scans*, Thanks Livia (and centergirl) Options

Many thanks to Livia for these scans , and to centergirl for also scanning for us. And thanks to skanky for the tipoff. I decided we needed a new topic for the scans to make them the first post on the topic.
I will put the Entertainment Tonight clip on the Vanity Fair here in this post as well. That should come shortly.

There is a lot to read! Looks interesting. I was going to hold off until after the film release but may change my mind

thanks so much foxy! that was amazing. i can't wait for this movie. nicole looks amazing. for some reason, i can't imagine this film being made into a musical starring streisand. when will it really be released? i keep hearing either october or november and i'm confused. one thing's for sure, i can't wait for another amazing performance from nicole (and robert and the rest of the cast)

Well, after all that it does not seem to have generated much interest! Is it because I did not manage to get onto the computer until well after Livia and centergirl had kindly sent me their scans? Robert Downy Jr was on Inside the Actors Studio last night and they spoke about Fur and was ask what it is like to work with Nicole, in this movie

He said that he has just been to see The Diane Arbus Exhibit that day and then he had to come in an do a scene with Nicole and he said for a split second while in the scene that he actual thought that he was looking at Diane Arbus

That was all that was said about Nicole, they usually rebroadcast the show before the new episode each Sunday.

I can not wait to see this movie.

Thanks Livia and centergirl. It is a beautiful and intriguing article. I particularly enjoyed her description of the ghostly self-photograph and how it seems that hit a chord with Nicole and inspired her portrayal. I am looking forward to the movie more than ever. Talk about a labor of love from the author....oh my!

Foxy, I just started to read it - I just discovered this thread a minute ago - but let me add my thanks to you right now for posting this, and to livia and centergirl for the scans, and to skanky for the tip-off (whew! Am I forgetting anyone? I hope not.) Just skimming the first page I see a lot in Bosworth's description of Arbus that reminds me of Nicole, especially how Arbus had a way of drawing people out and making them feel like they were "they most important person in the world." That stopped me dead in my tracks because I have heard that phrase used to describe Nicole so many times.

Just as a reminder, Mary Ellen Marks was one of the photographers who worked with Baz on PR shots (the Little Red Book) for Moulin Rouge; (her photos can be seen on the second disk of the special edition, and in the Moulin Rouge photo book at the booksellers.')

It's a wonderful thing to see the work of authors valued, especially in the movie industry; Nicole is one of the few "stars" today who really values the author in any given project. (And btw, $17 mil sounds like a lot of money to a Jane Shmoe like me, but it wouldn't pay for one minute screentime of your basic Hollywood summer "blockbuster".)

I'm sure I'll have more to say once I've read the entire article - but now I really AM starting to get excited about this project (as if I weren't already.) This article is a brilliant bit of PR - the filmmakers have a clear idea of who their audience is (and it's not the general masses, frankly, or the schoolkids) and are using this article to target them (i.e. us) directly. If this marketing is an indicator of the general quality and intelligence of the film, then we are in for a treat.

interesting article.i don't know why, maybe it's too early to say this, but i think Diane Arbus will be the character of Nic's life as an actress.I hope she get another oscar, she is fabulous in biographys.
