I thought they were kidding about Streisand's musical on Diane Arbus This post has been edited by skankyoldwhore: Jul 11 2006, 06:10 AM -------------------- "Every day, you get better or you get worse. What did you do today?

Thanks for the scans Livia, Centergirl and Foxy
Interesting read. When I first saw the photos of Nicole, to me she has a certain look in her eyes...looks like she may have nailed the spirit of Arbus This post has been edited by Wiggleurnose: Jul 11 2006, 04:49 PM |

Not quite like any other I've seen of Nicole - in any character. |

I especially loved when the writer of the Diane Arbus biography was talking about Nicole and how she was prepairing .. this is what she said... QUOTE Kidman tells me that she cant be interupted or else she might loose her vision she has for her upcoming scene. or when she talks about how she was watching nicole on the screen and she had the same look on her face that Diane gave her.... THATS BECAUSE NICOLE IS SUCH A GREAT ACTRESS!!!! OMG SHE BETTER WIN AN OSCAR! I HAVENT EVEN SEEN IT YET .. AND I KNOW THIS! Not quite like any other I've seen of Nicole - in any character. thanks livia and centergirl! i definitely agree. she's so great. in my opinion, she's one of the very few who can do subtlety exquisitely and right on. the movement of the eyes, a glance, her body language... she can also scream and yell and cry in showy scenes. she can do both with such ease that you don't want to question how she does it. you sort of just marvel at her incredible talent and watch in such awe. that, i think, is the epitome of a great actress and she certainly is. that photo and the one that headed her vogue september 2003 spread with her thumb on her mouth (my current avatar)are some of the best pictures that capture such raw emotions in a snap! those are some of my favorites and i instantly responded to the one featured in vanity fair. can't wait for this movie. i also wanted to add something after i saw the et video and towards the end the movie "the devil wears prada" was briefly mentioned. i saw that when it came out and meryl's character reminded me of joanna from the stepford wives (during the first part of the movie where she's an insensitive unlikeable executive). i had a realization, nicole and meryl are so much alike. i know this has caused debate and the comparison have been mentioned but it is just sort of uncanny. i can imagine nicole playing miranda (meryl's character in the movie). sure the stepford wives was unpopular but nicole's performance was still great. nic and meryl played strong, almost testosterone driven women but lent them the depth present in every human being, b*tch or not. i just thought i should mention. those are two of the most versatile actresses around and their longevity is unquestionable. Red, there was an article with Nicole in Vanity Fair last year and the interviewer Ingrid Sichey (sic) who is a friend of Nicole's too (and discloses this in her article) made plans to meet Nicole who was going to view a Diane Arbus exhibit. Nicole then called Ingrid and said it was something she needed to do alone as it didn't feel right to be accompanied when she was probably trying to just understand Diane and get under her skin. When I read this part of the article, I really understood (as did Ingrid) why it was just important for Nicole to be alone with Diane (i.e., her work).... |

She decided not to go see the exhibit, I think because she wasn't portraying Arbus as the eye who'd already captured those images but Arbus as a wife, mother just starting to enter into that world of those images This post has been edited by skankyoldwhore: Jul 13 2006, 06:47 AM -------------------- "Every day, you get better or you get worse. Thanks skanky, centergirl, foxy and Livia.
Great Article. I admit there's been a while since I've been so excited about a NK movie. Fur came to give me faith again on her choices. I can't wait until the movie comes out. November in the USA and I can't even imagine when it opens here. Next year I think. -------------------- . no wonder why people go crazy. wonder why they don't .
