Now I know we all want some sort of news over whether it's going to Tortonto(which is THE place for oscar hopefuls to debut) and there are many films that are not confirmed just yet, but it's looking like a real possibility that Fur(along with many other promising titles) are indeed going to go.

Not confirmed but likely:
Breaking And Entering - Anthony Minghella
Catch-A-Fire - Phillip Noyce
For Your Consideration - Christopher Guest
Fur - Steven Shainberg
The Half Life of Timofey Berezin - Scott Z. Burns
The History Boys - Nicholas Hytner
Killshot - John Madden
The Last King of Scotland - Kevin Macdonald
Lucky You - Curtis Hanson
The Namesake - Mira Nair
The Painted Veil - John Curran
The Prestige - Christopher Nolan
Running With Scissors - Ryan Murphy
Stranger Than Fiction - Marc Forster
Venus - Roger Michell

The official list is set to be released on Aug. 22nd.

Thanks Nicolefan. With the summer dry spell (i.e. summertime junk cinema) it's always good to be reminded that the return of quality films is just around the corner. (If only the studios would spread the wealth a bit - those of us who love intelligent movies don't just suddenly disappear to a desert island for three months and then reappear come September - I for one still want to go to the movies regardless of the season! In fact, I think the studios are quite missing out, at least here in the US - those of us without children or teens to mind, who love the movies would also be grateful for an excuse to sit in an air-conditioned environment for a couple of hours in midsummer!)

i hope it does go to toronto. it'd be great if while there, she attends the premiere of breaking and entering which would be a good chance to catch up with her cold mountain pals jude and anthony. also, it'd be exciting to hear from people who can see this film as early as it can be shown.
