UPDATE from foxy : See further down the page for a few teaser caps from centergirl who has the DVD!

I was just looking around the "FUR" section of the board, and I noticed it was posted the the DVD was being released on May 1st.

I thought it was strange the no one here mentioned anything about it coming out this week...

SO I went to the official website, and to my surprise the site is COMPLETELY redone, and is now in FLASH format.

http://www.furmovie.com

There is even a different trailer advertising the DVD release with reviews and quotes from critics.

THE RELEASE DATE FOR THE FUR DVD IS MAY 8TH, NOT MAY 1ST!!!

LOL...we are a poor lot arent we. Actually I have mentioned to a few people in PMs and in posts more incidentally that it was coming out soon although I thought it was the 5th of May for some reason.

It has been on preorder for quite a while now but I do not have my order in. I guess it is time! Sometimes they send out the preorder overseas one early. Too late now foxy... eek.gif

Thanks Kensy for the reminder happy.gif .

I had a chance to watch it this evening (I made the time) and I need some time to digest it all and view it again before I even try to say anything "profound." But I will say that I liked it (as did my husband) and I thought that Nicole was wonderful. It is a powerful story in many ways. It's late, so that's about it for now. But it is a movie that truly engages the viewer. One cannot watch it and even think about doing anything else. I give it a thumbs up! thumbsup.gif

Thanks for the heads up. I never did get to watch it in the big screen as my kids were sick. They showed it in only one movie house and for such a short time. sob.gif

I'm going out to tomorrow to buy the DVD. It will be my Mother's Day gift to myself. lol.gif I'm looking forward to watching it. happy.gif

I'm going to have to rewatch it as I didn't really like it the first time I saw it. I'll put it on my netflix queue.

I very much want to see this film, preferably on the big screen first.
For those in Australia, I contacted Andrew Urban (unrelated to KU, as far as I know), at Urban Cinefile, a very good online cinema site, though subscription payment is needed for full benefits.
Andrew said 'Fur" would be released in Australia, this year, but he didn't know when!!

I would tend to agree with cinemasaver that to see this movie on the big screen first would be a plus. Here in the States, however, it had such a limited release. It didn't play in my area. But the large screen helps in so many ways, including how well one can hear what is going on. happy.gif

thanks for the news about Australia one day getting the movie in cinemas, cinemasaver rose4.gif clap.gif clap.gif

I had given hope. It is well past its original release date. Even if it makes it here, it is highly unlikely it will be in a cinema anywhere near me. I had better put my DVD order in!
