Launches April 15 on iTunes LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Twentieth Century Fox and renowned filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, the Oscar® nominated director of Moulin Rouge and William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, are collaborating on a special series of 10 podcasts that will follow the making of the epic film AUSTRALIA, on which Luhrmann is writer, producer and director.
The "Set to Screen Series with Baz Luhrmann," launching today on the iTunes Store (www.itunes.com), is designed to educate and inspire high school and college filmmakers, taking them behind the scenes of AUSTRALIA, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman - and inside the creative process of Luhrmann and his production team.

Every few weeks through October, aspiring filmmakers can explore AUSTRALIA's on-set photography, costume design, cinematography, scoring, editing, and more. In addition, students inspired by what they've learned from the podcasts will be invited to create and share their own film projects for a chance to join Luhrmann on the film's promotional tour and have their project included in AUSTRALIA's DVD release as well as other rewards.

Great movies are full of adventure, and Australia, the next film from Oscar-nominated director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!, William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet ), is no exception. But making a movie is an even bigger adventure—an adventure in creativity—and with the Apple Set to Screen Series, you can be a part of it.

Every few weeks through October, a new podcast episode from Baz and his production team will introduce you to another aspect of moviemaking, starting with on-set still photography, then moving on to costume design, cinematography, scoring, and more. You’ll get insights from the artists at work on Australia, watch them in action, view footage the rest of the world hasn’t seen yet, and follow along as the movie comes together.

Here’s where you come in.
Five of the episodes arrive with something extra: a creative challenge for you. Each time one of these episodes is released, you’ll have three weeks to complete the challenge and post it to the Apple Student Gallery. If your project is one of the best (10 from high schoolers and 10 from college students), you’ll win an iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod touch, or a MacBook Pro. And if your work is chosen as the most creative of all, you’ll be going on yet another kind of adventure—a trip for two to Australia. Five challenges mean you’ve got five chances to win.

Oh, and one more thing. Submit the top project for the final challenge, and Baz himself will plan your trip to Oz, meet you there, and take you along on the promotional tour for the film in the U.S. Your project will even be included on the DVD release of Australia.

I can't download this until I get home from work, but someone on another board said that the photography podcast has a bunch of gorgeous still photos. The photographer is the one that took the Vanity Fair pics and she said there are other pics from that series. She also said in the two podcasts that are there right now "Hugh and Nic kiss like a bajillion times" LOL.

Highlight to read.

A friend who's downloaded the Podcast (I haven't yet) said in the second video in the beginning there's a part where Nic is standing over Hugh looking very sad - he's on the floor and it looks like he's dying. She also said there's a part that shows the ballroom dance where he's cleanshaven.

I've also been told the first clip is about 2 mins. long and the second is about 4 mins. long. *can't wait to go home and watch*

Do you have itunes on your computer?If so just follow narrow101s second link and on the right side there is the watch potcasts link just cklick and then it should work.

On the right side of the page, there is a picture of NK and Hugh and it says "Watch and Subscribe to the Podcasts" if you have ITunes then you should be able to see it. On iTunes, the video clips are listed at the bottom as:

Just to say that I've got to give credit to James Fisher, NK on that horse with the cattle behind her is just a brilliant shot same with Hugh's, NK running, actually ALL the pictures are fantastic. I hope this makes the round on the web very quickly!
