There's an envelope on the home page with pictures sticking out - you can get them if you click on them (not sure if you have to register to do that or not). We've seen all of them except this one. I hope I have nine lives because I think I've died about five times already with these pictures!

The fansite Australiamovie.net is down because it was hacked - they're trying to get it back ASAP.

Thanks Narrows.

I reported last month that the trailer will possibly be out in April (based on a very reliable source).

The launch of this website confirms that my source could be correct - the trailer will be out this month! star01yellow.gif

New Set Photos From 'Australia' -- and Podcasts!
Posted Apr 17th 2008 9:32AM by Elisabeth Rappe

You know, I am pretty happy to be me. But every once and awhile, I see something like this, and I am possessed with fury that I wasn't born Nicole Kidman -- or at least an Australian actress who could have stolen the part from her. Damn. That photo is just all kinds of sexy. And there's more gorgeous stills from Australia over on IESB.net as well as a few over on the film's official site.

ITunes and 20th Century Fox have also paired up to bring ten Set to Screen with Baz Luhurman podcasts, which document all aspects of the upcoming film. This actually debuted yesterday, but because I couldn't access the podcast, there wasn't any way to properly write about it. If you're as technologically ill-equipped as I, the podcasts have been put up on MovieWeb. There are two up now, and both are worth watching for the gorgeous scenery (no, I'm not talking about Jackman) and the glimpses of the film. The one on still photography is especially stunning -- pure art!

I want to believe that this is is one of my dream films. WWII history, beautiful costumes, Hugh Jackman as a drover (that's all his character is billed as), Kidman looking lovely, fantastic location, high romance -- but any time I get wound up about a costume epic, I end up bitterly bored and disappointed. (And it is hard to bore me with a historical film, I am the kind of girl who watches those 20 hour documentaries on Russia.) At least it's providing some nice eye candy for now.

Australia opens November 14th, 2008.

Thanks for the links, narrows. rose4.gif Aww .. that new photo is so utterly romantic. beatingheart.gif beatingheart.gif I just love Baz' attention to detail. Even the envelope at that site has a "period" feel to it.

Seeing Nicole looking so lovely in the cheongsam outfits in the podcast and stills, perhaps fashion designers may be adding more Asian-inspired items to their collections, just in time for the holiday season. happy.gif I wouldn't be surprised if that were to happen, as retailers really stocked up on Moulin Rouge-inspired corsets when that film came out.
