It's been in postproduction since God knows when. I hope it's not a bad sign, what with it not going to Sundance and all. I REALLY want it to turn out well...

The movie won't be released until Fall so what is the rush? Post-Production is the toughest and hardest of the filming process and it takes months to do. It couldn't have gone to Sundance considering it just finished shooting in early August, not every movie goes to Sundance, Birth didn't, filmmakers are known to take a break between end of shooting and post-production, it probably just went into post-production last month. They have enough time to lag around before Fall. It would be nice if there is patience rather than thinking it might be doom. There is about 7 or 8 months to go before it sees release. Movies remain in post-production until they are released or close to release, post-production simply means, a movie has done shooting. I'd rather they take their time and deliver a well-made movie all round.

In addition to what Skanky said, it is a general given that serious dramatic movies tend to get released in the fall. The reasoning behind this is that the later it is released in the year the more fresh it is in the memories of the people who nominate films for the Oscars.

Right! And as Skanky said: Give the director a break! ;)
I wanna be a director as well but it is inhuman to be working about a year on pre-production (maybe longer), months on shooting (maybe longer) and then going into post-production rightaway. By the time you have to shape your movie you can't even hold your own head up. ;)

You find yourself collapsing into a heap

. I think Post-production is a lot tougher because you have to take all the reels you have collated over about 3 months and then cut them into a movie of less than 2 or 3 hours, that can't be easy.

Yes, exactly skanky!

We'll just have to be patient..

I'd rather they take their time on the movie and it be good, then them do it quickly - cause then it might not be as good...

I can guarantee it will all go well. Plus, as everyone has mentioned it already, they want to release it by the end of the year for voters and members of the Academy to vote and remember the film and of course the performances.
No worries.

Me, I like sparkling diamond's avatar. The way nic and Keith look at each other OMG. Maybe Keith was whispering to her, "You are the most beautiful girl here. Let us get out of this place and go somewhere else, just the 2 of us." Wishful thinking isn't it. You could see the love and pride on both of them.

This is the plot outline from IMDB
"A chronicle of the life of Diane Arbus, the revered photographer whose images captured attention in the early 1960s. After her suicide in 1971, she became the first American photographer to be exhibited at the Venice Biennale."
Very very interesting as you can see. Robert Downey Jr. is her co-star.

I hope that plot helps you.
