Filmmakers Symposium screenings feature new films, stars, directors

AREA -- Beginning Monday, Sept. 18, Filmmakers Symposium will screen new films for a 12 week series at two area theaters: AMC Loews Mountainside and Multiplex Cinemas at Town Center Plaza in East Windsor, as well as at the Anthology Film Archives in New York. Subscribers to this series will see movies before they are distributed, and enjoy a post screening interview with film creators. See 20 not-yet-released movies during the series. In the past 15 years, Filmmakers Symposium has hosted at least a thousand movie premieres. "The program will always be flexible in order to take advantage of opportunities as they arise," says Symposium director Chuck Rose. "Wonderful surprises and fantastic celebrities can pop up out of nowhere, so I try to keep the schedule as fluid as possible. In the past two years, we premiered 91 films which later earned a total of 38 Oscar, 44 British Academy, 39 Golden Globe, and 31 European Film Award nominations."
