Nic's next Fur premiere is in New York on November 5th! I was just watching E! and they said that there's a chance she might not be there :( I hope she is!

oh, come on nic - get it together - go to your premieres!!

I guess she will see how well she is coping with everything by that stage.

I would love it if she went, but not if it is an ordeal for her, especially as she may get a lot of attention for the wrong reasons.

Nic is very professional. She'll do what is right for her.

The press has ALWAYS been awful when it comes to Nicole. (Perhaps "always" is an overstatement, but you know what I mean.) When she came to the Bewitched premiere on the same day a friend died she was harrassed and booed by a photographer for not spending sufficient time in front of the cameras. If she had not shown up, she would have been criticized for not being a professional and giving the fans (and the media) their money's worth. (Most of the criticisms of course would have probably come from the media rather than the fans.) The same is true here - she'll catch flack no matter what choice she makes. (The thought of journos shouting out inappropriate and probing questions to private matters does twist my stomach a bit. The videos of the Rome premiere gave me a better idea of what premieres are like, and it all has the quality of a circus to me, not fun at all.)

I hope she does what is right for her, what her intuition and her heart tell her to do. True "fans" are not dependent upon her appearance at a premiere I should hope - it's great to see her in person or on video but will that prevent any of us from seeing the film or not if she doesn't?

Nicole Kidman is going to miss all of the publicity for her new movie, “Fur.”

Kidman has opted out of the big New York premiere this coming Sunday, leaving the heavy lifting to costar Robert Downey Jr. and director Steve Shainberg.

She also opted out of the swell mini screening at the Museum of Modern Art last night followed by a dinner hosted by executive producer Ed Pressman that shut down Elaine’s.

I wish she would take part in the premiere in New York but she's doing what is best for her and I can understand that she doesn't feel up to it.
Too many cameras flashing, too many journalists pressuring her for comments on her private life and in general lots of people who are not kind or considerate.

I did not realize that in rehab the person going through the treatment is supposed to be separated from family and friends for the full 28 days.
Hopefully Keith will be released in another three weeks but in the meantime, I'm sure Nicole misses him a whole lot and is extremely concerned about him.

Actual she may be missing the premiere because she is filming in London. My brother in law who works at Luton airport said one of his co-worker reckons he saw Nicole this morning ...I don't know whether to believe him or that he made a mistake but now I just read on People.com that Nicole is back in London and that she visited Keith before leaving. I also remember reading a few weeks back that she wouldn't be doing any more promotional work for Fur since she was filming in London and the production schedule couldn't be moved to a later date.

Btw...I was wondering if it was Nicole my BIL co-worker saw...why she flew in to Luton and not Heathrow. Apparently private jets don't fly into Heathrow. Explains why there's never been a Nicole sighting at Heathrow and I know a lot of people who work there and have seen many celebrities.

Yes, they did say she would be back on set in November. I wonder how many of her scenes her left to shoot?

Thanks for the info. Yes, she was due back to film in London in November but I also do not blame her for not going to the premiere in NYC. She did the promo work in Rome & Downey, Jr. was not there.

They seem to be shooting the scenes in order of the storyline and they've said shooting carries on till January so maybe this is the middle and she may appear for her latter scenes later in the year.

Wiggle, if I remember correctly, she doesn't appear much in the middle, right?

Skanky, my memory's a bit hazy as it's a long time since I read the book. I don't know what stage of shooting they're at...perhaps they are still shooting the early scenes but I believe Mrs Coulter makes three or four appearance throughout the book. Of course I am just guessing that they are shooting according to the order of the story....it may be that Nicole has returned to shoot all her scenes now rather than to keep returning until January. I believe she's expected in Australia in December for Baz's workshop in prep for the epic.

oh please nic please go! This has to be one of her best works of art (right up there with the hours) and she just needs to go!!!!!! it wouldn't even be worth having the premier if shes not going.... Ps; i tried getting my parents to take me the the NYC premeir. but they didnt budge. good thing, since she wont be going.
